Let’s own it! There are days in our lives when the end of our rope is all we have left. The frayed hanging on by a mere thread end of the rope. It’s a string. Trying to break.
Let’s recap a day. Okay, let’s not. It’s a mess!
Highlight Reel
Drove home from work racing against the clock. As usual.
Hold on. I almost forgot. Let’s back up a smidge. Sleep escaped me last night. I felt behind the 8 ball before the light of day ever broke through.
Short on time. That’s what we live. On this particular day we had 20 minutes. Dressed, packed, and piled in the car. Missing a car seat. Guess we will stop for that on the way.
Fast forward. 5 minutes from our destination and it hit me. I forgot the baby’s diaper bag. At home. In the garage. Turn around. Go home.
Tired. Exhausted. Almost have to laugh because it’s either that or cry. Failed. All that rush for nothing. Well, I refuse to give in. Too stubborn, I guess. So, I will awkwardly laugh a little.
A song rose up within me.
The joy of the Lord is my strength!
He is. Right now. In this moment. When I’m tired he keeps me going. In the moments when life feels too hard, his joy is my strength. When it’s all falling apart around me. In the middle of the storm. As my boat rocks to and fro. His joy is my strength.
Here he is; right on time!
There isn’t a day we walk he hasn’t already seen. He makes a way where there is no way. Overwhelming victory is already mine. Faith can be my sight.
All because, the joy of the Lord is my strength!
He is my ever present help in time of need. Psalm 46:1
My God works everything together for my good! Because I love him and am called according to his purpose! Romans 8:28
He has plans for me. To prosper, give me hope, and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
The Joy of the Lord is My Strength!
So, to the devil, I say this…try again. Because today isn’t yours. It is the day the Lord has made and I WILL rejoice in it. #nottodaysatan
As you wake in the morning. Or lay your head down at night. Sing your song of joy. You’ve won. You’re victorious. God has it. The more the devil throws at you the better the prize. He will make a way where there is no way. Because he is an almighty powerful merciful loving and just God. Even when it hurts. Especially when it hurts.
Praise him today like your victory has already happened, because it did. Your victory comes from the Lord not the people or circumstances around you.
Choose joy. Choose praise. Worship your God through it all. And walk in Faith.
