In the days of Noah, God grieved the existence of man. His heart shattered with a hollow ache for the egregious sinful behaviors of his creation. (Genesis 6:6)
Make no mistake, he knew this day would come, when he placed his hands into the dust of the earth to create Adam. As he blew his own breath into Adam to bring his creation to life, he knew he would grieve. He knew he would call for the rains from both cloud and ground to wash the earth of the abundance of sin. (Genesis 2:7; 1 John 3:19-20)
He also knew there would be one righteous man that would stand in the gap for mankind. Noah. He knew he would give a covenant to man for all of time to remember his promise. (Genesis 6:5-13)
He knew, as he created man, despite the flood, ultimately, he himself would be the required sacrifice. He knew the breath of his Spirit would be poured out as the comforter and victor for you and I today. (Ephesians 2:10)
He knew that covenant would be manipulated by man prideful of their sins. His heart, to yet again, grieve for the lost. Still, with mercy through grace he patiently waits to return so that everyone will have the opportunity to turn from their sin and find him as his desire is no one would be lost. Yet, we know that hell knows no boundaries as it extends its borders to accommodate all whose stubborn prideful hearts refuse the gentle loving call of the good, good Father. (2 Peter 3:9; Isaiah 5:14)
Sisters, you are called to be salt and light of the earth. You are called to be separate. You are called to serve Jesus Christ above all else. You are commanded to love God with your whole being, love your neighbor as yourself, and love your enemies not just your friends. You are to called to share truth graciously and effectively to the dying lost world. You are called to refuse to even touch their filthy unrighteousness. Out of an abundance of love for the sinner NOT the sin, you MUST remember the covenant and refuse to defile it in the name of acceptance, tolerance, and surely the name of love as affirmation of the sin is NOT love for the sinner. (Matthew 5:13-20; 2 Corinthians 6:17; Colossians 4:6; Matthew 22:37-39)
Don’t allow yourself to be deceived by the adversary of your soul. He relishes in your confusion as then you’ll do his work and NOT your Father’s. We are called for the latter. (Matthew 2:18-20; Ephesians 6:19)
